§ 22-3. Adoption of ward plan.

  • The plan dividing the city into four [six] single- member districts or wards from which four [six] aldermen will be elected, one alderman to be elected from each ward, with a fifth [seventh] alderman to be elected from the population of the city at large, and with the mayor to be elected from the population of the city at large, is hereby approved and adopted, pending preclearance by the United States Department of Justice on submission to the United States Department of Justice under section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended.
