§ 34-201. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Contribution means and includes the word money, clothing, food, pledges or anything of a monetary value.

    Person means any individual, firm, partnership, company, association, organization, team or league, or any representative thereof, both profit and nonprofit.

    Solicit means an offer to sell anything of value or a request directly or indirectly for money, credit, property, financial assistance, or any other form of contribution or any other thing of value which will be used for a personal profit or will be used for a charitable purpose. "Solicit" shall also be defined as the act of a person, as defined herein, disseminating published materials in any form by requesting motorists to consider accepting, whether or not actually accepted, such published materials.

    Solicitations shall be deemed completed when made, whether or not the person making the same actually sells an item or receives a contribution or disseminates published material.
